Oh, excellent! My friends are big wine-drinkers and do the wine & cheese thing but I don't like wine--now I can do a beer & cheese tasting for them! Thanks. :)

I got to attend a "wine vs. beer smackdown" session at a cheese conference and the beer guy argued beer is actually better for cheese. The carbonation lifts the butterfat of the cheese off your tongue and mixes the tastes of both. Because wine doesn't, a mediocre wine can be hidden by a good cheese. I don't know if he's totally right, but both pairings were delicious :)
