Goals 2009 Reviewed: Travel

Assuage Ladybug fever
Three times! First in January, in Bloomington (IN). Then in June, when Dwayne, Kristi, Ladybug, and bun-in-oven visited San Antonio (Ladybug's first time here). Then again in October to meet our new nephew (no photos -- too busy playing with the 'Bug and cuddling her brother). I hope for lots more playing and cuddling in 2010.

Attend Bevis family reunion
Oof. This was a long time coming. The last time I saw my family on Dad's side was the summer I met Dave -- 16 years ago. TOO LONG. In July, in Rising Sun (IN), I got to see three aunts and one uncle, and a few cousins. It was nice to catch up with them; I've since connected with more through Facebook. It won't be as long before I attend another reunion. And yeah. My maiden name was good for a few prank phone calls in the early '90s. :)

Leave the country for at least 2 weeks
This did not happen in 2009, and its not happening has stoked our fire to take another long trip. We did get to host international friends for the half-marathon. Right now we're planning 2 weeks in France in March, but are already saving for something...broader. You'll know more when we do.

Like, in a week, when I post our 2010 travel goals! You can barely wait, right?

Did you get in some nice travel in 2009? Have your sights set on a destination or experience in 2010? Spill!

I got to Charleston, SC.for a couple of months. One of my favorite cities, and made a return visit to the Biltmore on the way back. Love that place. Colorado for two weeks at Thanksgiving -- being my favorite place in the world!! Now I'm in Newport News, VA. (It counts as last year because I came the 28th.) I always wanted to see Williamsburg at Christmas, but can it beat the arrival of my first grandchild? Somehow I doubt it.

I didn't have good plans last year--I did travel, but not for happy reasons (my aunt fell ill, and we had to take care of her for a bit).

BUT.

This year, I've got plans to go to Europe again! Italy, France...and SWITZERLAND!!!!!! (I'm extra excited about that one as I've not been there before)

Teri - Congrats on your first grandchild. :) I know what you mean about Colorado -- it's the first place I moved after college. I have a real affection for it.

Beth - Exciting plans! Enjoy!
