New Challenge: 2,009 Minutes of Sweat

Time for a new fitness challenge!

My last two challenges were distance-based. This angle was fine, as far as it went (no pun intended), but there was one big problem: distance challenges discourage water fitness.

I exercise for 30-45 minutes at a time. I can easily cover 5-7 km if I'm on an elliptical machine. If I'm swimming, though, I top out at 1.5 km.

Either way, I get a great cardio workout and some good resistance work, yet within a distance-based challenge, swimming is a liability. Which sucks.

So! My next challenge will be time-based: 2,009 minutes for obvious cheesy reasons. This comes to about 67 thirty-minute sessions. At 4 sessions per week, the challenge should take about 4 months to complete.

As always, I'll update in the sidebar. I'm hoping to find a nifty progress bar to provide visual goodness.

If anyone wants to compete, I'm all for it!  :)

I like the minutes, this might work for me. Cool that you share it with everyone. :) Thanks.

Sure! I'm liking the minutes -- I swam the other day for the first time in a couple months -- felt great.
