95 degrees? I think I'll go for a hike.

Because I'm just that crazy.

Today was the first day I've taken off in two weeks, so when I finally rolled my lazy ass out of bed, I figured I should give it a workout. It was off to Government Canyon State Natural Area for me and my various cheeks. There, I slathered myself with sunscreen and did a 10.7 km loop; took about 3 hours to do it. It was sunny and very hot, but also dry and breezy with cedar on the air, so a really nice day. The sky was a deep blue, but I don't think my camera caught that.

Some pix of the Spanish moss on part of the trail (the second is my new desktop)...

Shots of the trail -- very rocky but that kept it interesting...

Not far after this sign...

...I looked ahead to see a bike lying next to the trail, and someone's leg next to the bike. All I could think was, "Crap! I hope that guy's not dying," because I'm signed up for a CPR/First Aid class tomorrow. But the leg didn't seem weirdly splayed or bent, and there was another leg next to it, very relaxed-like. Turns out the guy was just chilling in the shade.
If these shots look familiar, it's because I've blogged this park before.
